Happy “Swimsuit Saturday!” As mentioned last week, this June we’ll be celebrating the legacy of Esther Williams, who will have left us eleven years ago on June 6th. I didn’t watch any new movies this week from the old TCM lineup, but I revisited some sweet ones I’ve seen before: Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Duchess of Idaho, and Pagan Love Song. If you’ve seen any of these, I’d love to know your thoughts or what your favorite one was! Let me know in the poll below!

Which one do you like the best?

  • Take Me Out to the Ball Game

  • Duchess of Idaho

  • Pagan Love Song

Instead of reviewing these films though, today I’d like to highlight some artists I love whose work is either directly inspired by, or captures the spirit of, Esther Williams. Small Business Swimsuit Saturday, if you will. All of these artists have a plethora of classic film and television-themed designs on their shops that are so fun to scroll through! I have a few prints/stickers from most of these shops and I love seeing them around my room!

Esther Williams by LorelayBove
This design makes me feel like I’m inside a dream sequence in an old musical, and the little bubbles that make up her name remind me of an old theater marquee. A nice touch.

Vintage Swimsuits by KatieAnnePeters
I love these bathing suits! They’re not suits that Esther wore, but they definitely have that vintage feel. Don’t mind me, I’ll just be sitting here waiting for Katie to turn these into actual swimsuits I can wear.

Esther Williams Movie Scenes by Awwdraws
From the films Easy to Love and Million Dollar Mermaid, which are on my watch list this month! These are so darling and bring back wonderful memories of watching Esther’s sequences in the That’s Entertainment movies when I was a kid.

Make a Splash! by FromTheArchives
Again, this one isn’t specifically inspired by Esther Williams, but it gives me similar vibes! FromTheArchives has so many creative designs, ranging from Alfred Hitchcock Presents to Singin’ in the Rain. It’s always fun to see what they’ll come up with next!

Each of these artists are so talented, and I’m always in awe of their ability to bring these movies to life in beautiful ways and through so many different interpretations. I hope you have fun exploring their shops, and that you’re all having a lovely day.

Until next week’s Swimsuit Saturday, keep living vintage!
